Tintin versus Kirby

We seem to have gotten the internet’s attention with Jesse Hamm’s mashup last week. Let’s take that one step further. Here’s a panel from an actual upcoming Marvel Comics story to be published in Fantastic Four Giant-Size Adventures #1 written by Paul Tobin, and drawn and colored by Dustin Weaver. It’s “The Adventures of Thingthing. Dustin talks a bit more about the story on his LJ.

Jeff Parker’s Marvel Adventures:The Avengers

Majorspoilers.com:
Jeff Parker (Agents Of Atlas, X-Men: First Class) has big fan following in the Marvel Adventures line, as well as the rest of the Marvel U, and after reading this I can see why.

Every Day is Like Wednesday:
No lie: If you’re only going to spend $2.99 on comics this week, make sure you spend it on “Don’t Be Hatin’,” the done-in-one masterpiece of Marvel merriment and mockery.

News OK
…while “Mighty” and “New” varieties are selling well, the Avengers book that most appeals to me these days is “Marvel Adventures Avengers” and issue 24 is a prime reason why.

Elsewhere, our wonderful assistant Sarah Burini has posted a Wondercon report. It’s in German, but the pictures are fun.

Another great Christmas tradition.

Looking for holiday cheer? A sincere reaffirmation of the values we all share? A picture of Luke Cage giving Iron Fist a noogie? Head over to Chris’s Invincible Super-Blog, and read his recap of Jeff Parker’s heartwarming holiday classic Yes, Virginia, There is a Santron.”

The New Edition

Nostalgia for vanished integrity time! Oni’s just announced that there’ll be a new edition of WHITEOUT. This might be the new cover.

Speaking of vanished, looks like Speedball’s gone forever. Paul Jenkins responds to intense fan reaction here.

Equally intense but less beligerent: more response to Parker’s all-Modok issue of Marvel Adventures- The Avengers:
