Paul Guinan is Guest of Honor at STEAMCON this weekend. The folks at Seattle Geekly interviewed Paul and Anina about the Victorian robot Boilerplate, and steampunk in general, for their October 15 episode.

German version of Boilerplate called PANZERMANN Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett will be performing excerpts from the book Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel at Powell’s Books. CBR has posted an interview with Paul and Boilerplate co-author/wife Anina Bennett. They talk about the creation of the Victorian robot, their intent with the book, and provide hitherto unknown tidbits about the coffee-table tome. A MAJOR BOILERPLATE EXHIBITION AT PORTLAND CENTER Boilerplate’s creator Paul Guinan sees the soon to be released BP coffee-table book as history–with one fictional element, a robot. Technically this makes it science-fiction. However, Paul doesn’t necessarily think of it as steampunk, because of the lack of goggles, gears, airships, and other such tropes. Richard Vasseur interviews Paul Guinan about his robot creation Boilerplate, and comic book co-creations Heartbreakers, and Chronos. Review copies of Paul Guinan’s BOILERPLATE book are getting rave reviews.
