We’re very proud to announce that Dylan Meconis’s online graphic novel FAMILY MAN has been nominated for a Reuben Award in the Online Comics – Long Form category by the National Cartoonists Society. (You can see the full list of divisional nominees here.) “Family Man is a long, slow burn of a passion project,” says Dylan, “and this is a wonderful boost of validation.”
The comic, now close to completing its second volume, follows the fortunes of a young academic by the name of Luther Levy, who finds himself employed at a University deep in the woods along the Bohemian border. In his dealings with the University’s elusive Librarian, Arianna, Luther begins to untangle a wider web of human nature and theologic mystery that reaches from the library’s oldest books to the darkest corners of the woods outside.
The first volume of FAMILY MAN is available in print from Dylan’s online store, and the story continues to update weekly online at lutherlevy.com. Additionally, you can catch Dylan appearing at Linework Northwest tomorrow, Saturday April 12th, here in Portland. The show is free and open to the public from 2pm to 9pm at Norse Hall.
