Periscopians Perform Park Play

You’ve heard of Shakespeare in the Park? Well, TREK IN THE PARK is a Portland phenomenon where classic episodes of Star Trek are performed outdoors before thousands of attendees. The Atomic Arts theater production has been featured on the PORTLANDIA TV series and was profiled nationally on CBS NEWS (which included an appearance of Portland comic book creators Matthew Clark and Greg Rucka as audience members).

Dylan Meconis, Paul Guinan, and Anina Bennett. The Vulcan ambassadorial party from Trek in the Park’s “Journey to Babel.”

Periscope artists Paul Guinan and Dylan Meconis, along with writer Anina Bennett, are in this year’s adaptation of the episode “Journey to Babel.” The husband-and-wife team of Paul and Anina play Spock’s parents Sarek and Amanda, with Dylan in a cameo as Sarek’s Vulcan aide.

The play is performed at Cathedral Park in St. Johns, beginning at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays during August. Eight shows in all. BOLDLY GO!
